We are very particular in choosing our staff and have each member undergo regular training and evaluation to maintain qualification in their respective areas. Additionally, each staff member has undergone a Department of Justice background check to further ensure that they qualify to work with our students.

 

Kris Kademian - Director of Operations

Master Kris Kademian, "Master K", is a 6th degree black belt with over 35 yrs. experience in the martial arts and holds several expert certifications in both hand to hand & weapons systems.  Founder of MIM, Master K has trained law enforcement & civilians and continues to develop and teach sought after curriculums that retain traditional teachings yet are also practical and applicable to our modern culture. This unique blend ensures that our programs offer the best balance of fitness, discipline and practical application for all age groups.

 

Tadashi Yamashita- Technical Advisor

Grandmaster Tadashi Yamashita, 10th degree black belt has dedicated over 50 years of his life to the practice of Okinawan Karate and Kobudo. He has direct lineage from these arts and is highly respected in all circles of the martial arts. Yamashita-Sensei is sought after from students all over the world.  Sensei is also the President and Director of U.S. Shorin-Ryu Karate Association, and U.S.A. President of the Zen Okinawan Kobudo Association, founder of the Suikendo fighting system and is credited for teaching the late Bruce Lee the use of the nunchucku. Sensei Yamashita is also an accomplished action movie star.

 

Lori Kademian - Nutritionist

Lori Kademian "Mrs. K", is our resident nutritionist and office manager. Originally from the East coast, Lori has been practicing nutrition for over 20 years. She has operated her own private practice and was formerly the Director of Research and Development for the Apex Fitness Group, one of the leading nutrition education companies in the country. Lori has a warm friendly personality and genuine passion to help people. She is also our main "go to" person and administrative wizard.

 

James Krailo Instructor

James Krailo is a 2nd degree black belt and has been training with us since childhood. James has always been a loyal dedicated student who continues to train hard and improve his skills. He is an experienced, versatile instructor and teaches in all of our programs as needed. James loves the discipline martial arts has taught him and continues to apply the lessons he learns in the dojo to improve his focus and dedication in his personal life and academic pursuits.


 

 Tim Wolkiewicz - Instructor

Tim Wolkiewicz is a 1st degree black belt and has been training with us for over 10 years. Tim originally started his martial arts training in the art of Aikido while growing up on the east coast. He was a natural fit for our martial arts family because of his friendly personality, easy going demeanor and of course passion for the martial arts. Tim instructs our upper level Jr. Karate students. He is also a talented artist and is the cartoonist and co-author of our "Adventures of Aiki & Kiai" comic series.


 

Philippe Nuguid - Instructor

Philippe Nuguid is a 1st degree black belt and is the one of the main instructors for our Jr. Karate program. Philippe has a natural talent for the martial arts and brings a dynamic energy to our classes. He currently balances life between academics, martial arts training and teaching. Through his training, Philippe has made positive changes in his life since coming to us and is committed to using lessons learned to help others.

 

Kristine Webb- Instructor

Kristine Webb joined out team after seeing the benefits of training in her husband and children who were already students with us. Shortly thereafter, her entire family was featured in the Los Angeles Times. Kristine is an academic school teacher and after completing our instructor training, was a welcome addition to our teaching staff. She is the main instructor for our Kinder Karate program and is instrumental in providing a positive first experience to our toddlers.

 

Hannah Webb - Instructor

Hannah Webb is our newest instructor. She has basically grown up at our dojo and now follows in her mother's (Kristine Webb) footsteps as a teacher. She is exceptionally talented and is the main instructor for the beginning students in our Jr. Karate program. Growing up she completed all of our kids programs and is currently working on her requirements for her black belt in Shorin Ryu Karate. Hannah is an avid reader and is also a talented up and coming artist.
